Knitting Lagniappe goes to Yarntopia

Follow us to Yarntopia - heaven for fiber lovers, knitters, spinners, crocheters and anyone who loves yarns. Misty and I will be debuting our hot selling items from the DFW Fiber Fest on Saturday, May 1st, from 11 -1:00. Some of you have seen our wonderful yarn bowls. Once you've used one, you are a fan of them. We had so many repeat customers up in Dallas wanting more.

But have you seen our knitting jewelry - no, the jewelry is not knitted or crocheted. It is for knitters and crocheters. Tools to be exact that are worn as jewelry. Exquisite enough for evening wear, fun enough for jeans and practical enough for that night out at the knitting guild. Are you intriqued? Then join us May 1st, from 11-1 at Yarntopia. Everyone who comes out gets a free , dazzling ring marker for either knitting or crocheting made just for Yarntopia customers that day. Watch for pictures in the next few days for this new item.

DFW Fiber Fest (part 2)

Misty here.....
I can't tell you how much fun it was to work the DFW Fiberfest again with Mom. She is such a creative genius and somehow manages to inspire the creativity in others (like me) who otherwise may never know they had any!
Here are some more pictures of our booth at the FiberFest. It was so much fun seeing faces from last year and how much they loved what they got.
Even more exciting, is that Yarntopia is planning a special event at their store to show case many of our items & items from some other vendors....stayed tuned for more details on that!

This whole table sold out by Sat evening! AMAZING!
Thanks Mom for another great weekend...and Beau thanks you for starting me on a new obsession.....hehehehehe

What's new these days

Well, Misty and I were vendors again this year at the DFW Fiber Fest, and well, we sold out. Yep, all the yarn bowls, most of the cups, all the scented stones and most of the new lines of jewelry items went. Came home with only one small box. What a trip!!!! We are so excited and ready for next year - well, maybe not ready. We have lots of pots to throw and things to make. Even had a "following" of customers who came back for more. How fun is that! Here is a picture of part of our booth.

The Agave Road dinnerware is going great, even added a new line. THis one is a deep red and beautiful. So things are happening still.

Catching Up

It's been a long time. Life has been busy. The paintings all sold, the pots have moved to new homes and I'm one busy lady. The pottery for Agave Rd has really taken off, with new orders every month. Sets are selling well and even a line of candles with the holders matching the dinner ware are on line. Love it!
The yarn bowls are selling as fast as I make them. What a joy! It's a fun way to join my knitting and my love of clay. I've made a new pattern for a "neck warmer" that will be selling at my favorite yarn store, Yarntopia, along with my buttons. So the world of Mud and Yarn is doing well.
I was very busy this last year with Frank out of work = but God blessed him with a beautiful job that has lightened our load. We have a beautiful new granddaughter, Izzy, and of course the quads are always a delight and now are 3 yrs old. Our other granddaughters are into the teen and preteen years - Heaven help their dad.
No pictures today - just telling the world how grateful I am for our Lord's help, strength, and his unconditional love and blessings. I thank you, dear Lord.
May we all remember his love this time of year.

New Work

I've just finished some new work that is taking me into a new direction - combining painting with clay and even fiber. Wow - all my loves at once (well not people love, just art love). Anyway, a wonderful friend of mine, Sheryl Means told me about this show in New Orleans at the BECA Gallery and I took the challenge. What can I do on a 12x12" canvas that was me. Here are the results. All of these pieces can be purchased through the BECA Gallery at www.becagallery.com from May 25 - July 3. I have to work on the hot link to their gallery. Frank & I hope to get over to New Orleans during this time to see the work.

We DID IT!!! Misty & I were vendors at the Dallas Fort Worth Fiber Festival and we nearly sold out of everything. It was fantastic. I've put in a couple of her notecards she has created. We sat for three days selling yarn bowls, cups, buttons, notecards (she is a fantastic photographer) and spinning. Yes, spinning. Misty brought her wheel and got to spin some fantastic fibers from the vendors next to us. We had so much fun visiting with knitters, spinners, weavers, fiber people, alpaca owners, etc. It was great. IT's nice to know that a dream we've had came true and actually worked out better than expected. Now it's time to clean up the web page, www.knittinglagniappe.com and get new pictures and supplies ready.

A Dream Come True

This is the website for our new adventure - www.knittinglagniappe.com
Today was it's "birthday". It is a dream that Misty and I have had for a very long time. We have done small craft shows and dreamed of having a web page to sell our wares, and to have a real business. Now we do. We have combined our love for clay and fiber into this one place of fun and creativity.
This weekend we kick off the retail end at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Fiber Fest as vendors. If you are in the area, please come say hi .

I am so proud of all the work Misty has done to help see this dream come true. She is amazing!
A big thank you to Frank for taking on so many duties I used to do so that I could work and create. He is wonderful.

Yes, I'm scared, I'm excited, I'm tired.... but I feel like it's a whole new world that is opening up to us and I'm ready to enter.
Dreams do come true - just keep trying.
Come visit us at Knitting Laganiappe* (it means a little extra)
